Bhanu Bhavan violence: GJM Delhi chief sent to seven-day CID custody

A Siliguri court on Friday sent Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) Delhi president Manoj Sankar to a seven-day Criminal Investigation Department (CID) custody in connection with the Bhanu Bhavan violence case.
Sankar was arrested from Delhi on October 25 from a market complex in Delhi's Safdargunj Enclave area.
On June 9, GJM supporters had clashed with police outside Bhanu Bhavan in Darjeeling, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was holding a Cabinet meeting.
Police had booked GJM chief Bimal Gurung, among others, in the incident.
