Cowell insists 'great pregnant gal-pal' is no gold digger

X Factor judge Simon Cowell has reportedly opened up to chat show host Ellen DeGeneres and dismissed rumors about his pregnant gal-pal Lauren Silverman, insisting that she is not a gold digger.

The 53-year old music mogul called rumors that the 36-year old pregnant socialite was after him for his money as "absolutely nonsense", adding that "she is a great girl", and blaming the "awkward" circumstances for such reports, the Mirror reported.

Cowell who has so far been tight-lipped about becoming a father, accepted the intense interest in what he called a "juicy story", and revealed that he believes that exciting times lie ahead as he heads into fatherhood and admitted that he is "happier than ever".
