Ex-Brazil coach Scolari named coach of Guangzhou Evergrande

Former Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has been roped in as the new manager of reigning Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The Brazilian, who guided his nation's football team to victory in the 2002 World Cup, said that he knew China was spending a lot to improve its football now, and added that Guangzhou is one of the pioneers, the BBC has reported.
Scolari, who also led Brazil to the semi-final in the 2014 World Cup, stepped down from Brazilian club Gremio in May.
