Nico Rosberg remembered the victims of Paris terror attacks after securing runner-up position in the Formula One world championship with a victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The German driver controlled the race from the front and defeated newly crowned three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton to register his fifth and second successive win of the season.

Reflecting on the win, Rosberg said that it was a great weekend for him but added that everything was relative because of the tragic incident in Paris, Sport24 reported.

A minute's silence was observed before the start of the race as a mark of respect for the victims of Friday's terror attacks in the French capital, which left 132 dead.

Meanwhile, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari finished third.
