Himanta Sarma's close aide Pradan Baruah resigns as Parliament Secretary

Parliament Secretary of Revenue Pradan Baruah has reportedly resigned from his post, following a resignation announcement by former Congress minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Baruah is said to be a close aide of Sarma, who plans to join the BJP later this week.

Assam BJP spokesman Shiladitya Dev said Baruah's resignation will help the party ahead of the next year's assembly polls, while Assam Congress President Anjan Dutta said it will not affect the party at all.
