India on Sunday reclaimed the bronze medal at the Hockey World League Final after beating Germany by 2-1 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

It was an exciting third-fourth place classification match between India and Germany. Both the team could not score a goal in the first quarter until SV Sunil opened the scoresheet in the 20th minute.

Germany's Mark Appel, who was playing a centre-forward as seven German players were unfit, pulled off the equaliser in the third quarter.

India's Harmanpreet Singh made it 2-1 to secure the third place for the Indians.

India had also won the bronze in the last edition in Raipur in 2015.
