Jat quota row: Haryana CM Khattar appeals for peace

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday appealed to agitators to maintain law and order and a peaceful atmosphere in the state while chairing an all party meet to discuss the ongoing Jats reservation strike in Jhajjar and Rohtak.

"We appeal everyone to maintain peace and harmony in Haryana and also open roads which have been blocked due to agitation," Khattar told media here.

He hoped that the agitators would end their agitation today as all leaders had requested them to do so.

Khattar said that a committee formed to study the whole issue will submit its report by March 31st.

"The report of the committee we constituted will come by March 31 after which a solution will be made," he added.

Authorities blocked mobile internet and SMS services indefinitely in two Haryana districts as the Jat quota agitation entered the sixth day, leaving trucks, buses and trains stranded across the state and shutting down educational institutions in many places.
