Nadal eases past Monfils to reach Mercedes Cup final

Top seeded Rafael Nadal produced a dominant performance on Saturday as he eased past his French opponent Gael Monfils in straight sets to reach the Mercedes Cup final in Stuttgart.

The Spaniard overcame Monfils 6-3, 6-4 in a match that lasted over one hour and 19 minutes.

Nadal, the 14-time Grand Slam champion, will meet the winner of the second semifinal clash between Marin Cilic and Viktor Troicki on Sunday.
