Over one lakh students volunteered for Digital Financial Literacy Campaign: Javadekar

Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said that the Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan (Visaka) (Digital Financial Literacy Campaign) launched throughout the country last week is getting good response and more than one lakh student have already volunteered for this campaign.

"We are getting good response from this program. More than one lakh student have already volunteered for this campaign. We will start with the training tomorrow in various collages and the number is expected to grow at much higher level," said Javadekar here.

He further added that the Campaign is the biggest voluntary effort in digital financial transaction and transformation of India.

 

Last week the HRD ministry launched Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan (Visaka) scheme under which heads of educations institutions have been advised to give students credits for taking forward the Centre's financial literacy campaign for a cashless economy.
