An Australian man, who was fined on March 21, 2012, for crossing the road "too slowly", has been let off by a magistrate in Adelaide.

The judge saw sense in the case and criticized the police for even pursuing such a case against 33-year-old James Classen, the New York Daily News reported.

Justice Sue O'Connor jokingly said that the man could have simply been "doing the cha-cha".

O'Connor asked the prosecutors to withdrew the charges and they swiftly agreed.

Afterward, she apologized to Classen, who had to spend hundreds to fly back and forth to the hearings in Adelaide, 1,700 miles from home, to beat a 40 dollars fine, for the whole ordeal.
