Oscar-winning actor Penelope Cruz is all set to receive an honorary prize from France's Academy of Arts and Techniques of Cinema during the 43nd Cesar Awards ceremony.

President of the Academy of Arts and Techniques of Cinema, Alain Terzian called her a "muse of great filmmakers, a radiant Latin beauty".

He said, "Penelope Cruz has the talent to shine in international productions as much as in [smaller] films, whether [she's working] for Ridley Scott, Rob Marshall, Kenneth Branagh, Sergio Castellitto, Fernando Trueba or Asghar Farhadi, with whom she has just wrapped 'Everybody Knows' ('Todos Lo Saben'), which will come out in May."

In the statement announcing Cruz's honorary Cesar, Terzian discusses the actress's relationship with Alejandro Amenabar and especially Pedro Almodovar.

Almodovar, with whom she has done several films, including "Live Flesh", "All about my Mother", "I'm so Excited!" and "Broken", "Embraces", and "Volver", which earned her a best actress prize at Cannes in 2006 and an Oscar nomination.

She received her Oscar for her work with Woody Allen on 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona'.

The actress will next be seen in Asghar Farhadi's 'Everybody Knows', which will be released in May and is tipped for a spot in Cannes.
