Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen attended the funeral of former South Africa captain and his mentor Clive Rice in Johannesburg.
Rice passed away at the age of 66 last month after conceding defeat in his long-standing battle against brain tumour.
Former South African opener Barry Richards and former skipper Graeme Smith were among those who attended the memorial service for Rice.
"Off to pay our respects to #CliveRice. @BARichards356 @GraemeSmith49 @barneygirnun #RIPChief," the 35-year-old wrote on Twitter.
Regarded as one of the best all-rounders of his era, Rice scored first-class 26,331 runs at an average of 40.95 and took 930 wickets at 22.49.
Rice could only play three one-day internationals as his career coincided with South Africa's sporting isolation during apartheid.
He was appointed as South Africa's first captain in ODIs after their readmission to international cricket in 1991.
