PM expresses sadness over Varanasi boat capsize

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed sadness over boat capsize in the River Ganga in Varanasi's Betawar district.

"PM expresses his sadness over the capsizing of a boat in Varanasi district, prays for those missing in the unfortunate incident," tweeted PMO.

Earlier today, a boat carrying 40 people had capsized in the River Ganga in Betawar district of Varanasi.

Rescue operations are still on and so far 22 people have been rescued but 18 are still missing.
