Sam Smith cracks joke on April fool's day saying 'I'm straight'

Sam Smith recently joked on April fool's day by tweeting, "Guys I have some news... I'm straight".

The 22- year old singer, who has always been open about the fact that he was a gay, soon explained in another post with a crying emoticon, that it was simply an April fool's day joke, but the joke didn't really make many laugh, E! Online reported.

While some of the singer's fans were left amused, others got upset and tweeted back for seemingly trivializing the concept.
