Stephen Sondheim brands Lady Gaga's Oscar performance 'travesty'

Stephen Sondheim has categorized Lady Gaga's 'Sound of Music' Oscar performance as nothing but a travesty.

The Broadway composer said in an interview that the 'Bad Romance' singer's Academy Award performance was ridiculous, as it would be from any singer who treats that music in semi-operatic style, ABC News reported.

The 84-year-old lyricist added that Gaga had no relationship to what she was singing and what all little he saw was so embarrassing and watching it was completely a waste of time.
