Auto stocks soar
Auto stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 88.65 points or 0.48% at 18551.59 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.68%), Eicher Motors Ltd (up 1.57%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.2%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.77%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 0.4%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 0.33%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 0.3%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 0.06%).
On the other hand, Bosch Ltd (down 2.54%), Cummins India Ltd (down 1.22%), and MRF Ltd (down 0.74%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 160.76 or 0.39% at 41037.9.
The Nifty 50 index was down 56.95 points or 0.47% at 12072.55.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 54.48 points or 0.37% at 14786.21.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 21.19 points or 0.42% at 5069.77.
On BSE,543 shares were trading in green, 781 were trading in red and 63 were unchanged.
