Auto shares gain

Auto stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 87.62 points or 0.47% at 18549.53 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 1.3%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 1.17%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.05%),Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 0.99%),Eicher Motors Ltd (up 0.92%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Bosch Ltd (up 0.74%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 0.7%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.6%), Cummins India Ltd (up 0.43%), and Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 0.4%).

On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 0.23%), moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 103.86 or 0.26% at 40549.88.

The Nifty 50 index was down 27.25 points or 0.23% at 11984.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 45.37 points or 0.33% at 13591.4.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 11.48 points or 0.25% at 4685.06.

On BSE,800 shares were trading in green, 642 were trading in red and 80 were unchanged.
