Auto stocks edge higher
Auto stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 111.3 points or 0.68% at 16456.78 at 09:50 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 2.37%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 1.26%),Bosch Ltd (up 1.22%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 1.04%),Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 0.51%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 0.5%), Eicher Motors Ltd (up 0.48%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.46%), Cummins India Ltd (up 0.46%), and Bharat Forge Ltd (up 0.31%).
On the other hand, Exide Industries Ltd (down 1%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 0.53%), and Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 0.2%) turned lower.
At 09:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 25.79 or 0.07% at 37130.07.
The Nifty 50 index was down 8.9 points or 0.08% at 10973.9.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 18.32 points or 0.14% at 12926.01.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 10.66 points or 0.25% at 4295.2.
On BSE,782 shares were trading in green, 566 were trading in red and 55 were unchanged.
