Auto shares slide
Auto stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 122.77 points or 0.67% at 18236.19 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 3.49%), TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 2.8%),MRF Ltd (down 1.82%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 1.81%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 1.43%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Eicher Motors Ltd (down 1.32%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 1.06%), Bosch Ltd (down 1%), and Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 0.02%).
On the other hand, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 3.71%), Exide Industries Ltd (up 1.69%), and Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 1.5%) moved up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 62.69 or 0.16% at 40260.92.
The Nifty 50 index was down 18.3 points or 0.15% at 11889.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 16.69 points or 0.12% at 13491.44.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 15.63 points or 0.34% at 4662.73.
On BSE,1135 shares were trading in green, 1213 were trading in red and 162 were unchanged.
