Auto stocks edge lower
Auto stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 53.7 points or 0.29% at 18431.3 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Eicher Motors Ltd (down 1.26%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 0.64%),Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 0.54%),Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 0.44%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 0.43%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Exide Industries Ltd (down 0.27%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 0.26%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 0.24%), Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (down 0.21%), and Tata Motors Ltd (down 0.16%).
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 0.64%), Bosch Ltd (up 0.54%), and Cummins India Ltd (up 0.48%) turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 52.53 or 0.13% at 41306.27.
The Nifty 50 index was up 14.15 points or 0.12% at 12182.6.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 86.58 points or 0.63% at 13785.95.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 23.49 points or 0.49% at 4796.68.
On BSE,1265 shares were trading in green, 976 were trading in red and 171 were unchanged.
