Auto stocks see modest rise

Auto stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 73.78 points or 0.41% at 18154.72 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Bosch Ltd (up 2.87%), TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 1.32%),Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 1.14%),Exide Industries Ltd (up 1.09%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.82%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Tata Motors Ltd (up 0.6%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 0.59%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 0.54%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 0.35%), and Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 0.24%).

On the other hand, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 1.21%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 0.36%), and Eicher Motors Ltd (down 0.04%) moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 44.72 or 0.11% at 40696.36.

The Nifty 50 index was down 2.35 points or 0.02% at 11996.75.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 35.34 points or 0.26% at 13449.77.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 8.82 points or 0.19% at 4705.91.

On BSE,784 shares were trading in green, 636 were trading in red and 67 were unchanged.
