Headline shares of the Mainland China equity market were down for third straight session on Wednesday, 27 June 2018, as lingering worries over a trade war between the United States and China continued to weigh on the investors sentiments. The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill on Tuesday to tighten foreign investment rules, spurred by bipartisan concerns about Chinese bids to acquire sophisticated U.S. technology. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was down 1.1%, or 31.33 points, to 2,813.18, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was barely moved, dropped 1.29%, or 20.60 points, to 1,575.57. The blue-chip CSI300 index fell 71.85 points, or 1.3% to 3,575.57.
