Energy stocks slide
Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index decreasing 72.24 points or 1.35% at 5263.27 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Reliance Industries Ltd (down 2.09%), Gujarat Gas Ltd (down 1.25%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 1.22%),Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.96%),Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (down 0.92%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd (down 0.72%), Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.66%), Aegis Logistics Ltd (down 0.63%), Adani Gas Ltd (down 0.63%), and Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (down 0.54%).
On the other hand, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (up 4.09%), Castrol India Ltd (up 1.36%), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.23%) turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 105.24 or 0.25% at 41576.3.
The Nifty 50 index was down 28.95 points or 0.24% at 12242.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 7.24 points or 0.05% at 13383.79.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 1.44 points or 0.03% at 4703.26.
On BSE,999 shares were trading in green, 1312 were trading in red and 197 were unchanged.
