Energy shares fall
Energy stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 57.96 points or 1.12% at 5116.93 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 2.69%), Oil India Ltd (down 2.09%),Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 1.58%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 1.55%),Petronet LNG Ltd (down 1.5%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.29%), Coal India Ltd (down 1.11%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.06%), Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (down 1.03%), and Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (down 0.78%).
On the other hand, Goa Carbon Ltd (up 3.33%), Aban Offshore Ltd (up 3.18%), and Castrol India Ltd (up 2.63%) moved up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 41.42 or 0.1% at 40087.63.
The Nifty 50 index was down 3.75 points or 0.03% at 11873.7.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 67.37 points or 0.5% at 13625.42.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 18.34 points or 0.39% at 4706.49.
On BSE,1307 shares were trading in green, 1101 were trading in red and 183 were unchanged.
