Healthcare shares gain

Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 349.29 points or 2.6% at 13766.39 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Pfizer Ltd (up 10.55%), Solara Active Pharma Sciences Ltd (up 7.98%),Metropolis Healthcare Ltd (up 7.92%),Bliss GVS Pharma Ltd (up 5.52%),Vimta Labs Ltd (up 5.44%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd (up 5.34%), Piramal Enterprises Ltd (up 4.48%), Marksans Pharma Ltd (up 3.69%), Shalby Ltd (up 3.69%), and Dr Lal Pathlabs Ltd (up 3.69%).

On the other hand, Medicamen Biotech Ltd (down 1.9%), Indoco Remedies Ltd (down 1.09%), and Unichem Laboratories Ltd (down 0.7%) moved lower.

 

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 495.35 or 1.3% at 38639.37.

The Nifty 50 index was up 177.95 points or 1.6% at 11310.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 225.59 points or 1.66% at 13829.55.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 83.04 points or 1.77% at 4785.55.

On BSE,1111 shares were trading in green, 389 were trading in red and 62 were unchanged.
