Healthcare stocks edge lower
Healthcare stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index decreasing 246.44 points or 2.01% at 12027.83 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (down 15.77%), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 11.93%),Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 5.83%),Laurus Labs Ltd (down 5.71%),Piramal Enterprises Ltd (down 5.45%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (down 4.28%), Wockhardt Ltd (down 3.71%), Medicamen Biotech Ltd (down 3.07%), Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (down 2.99%), and Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd (down 2.88%).
On the other hand, Indoco Remedies Ltd (up 2.64%), Gufic BioSciences Ltd (up 2.63%), and Divis Laboratories Ltd (up 1.83%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 124.81 or 0.33% at 37798.12.
The Nifty 50 index was up 31.6 points or 0.28% at 11206.35.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 71.03 points or 0.55% at 12737.63.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 5.61 points or 0.13% at 4310.65.
On BSE,907 shares were trading in green, 1423 were trading in red and 217 were unchanged.
