Healthcare stocks rise

Healthcare stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 136.18 points or 1.03% at 13414.92 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Shalby Ltd (up 3.08%), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 2.75%),Cipla Ltd (up 2.72%),Albert David Ltd (up 2.59%),Medicamen Biotech Ltd (up 2.53%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Marksans Pharma Ltd (up 2.51%), Aarti Drugs Ltd (up 2.15%), Vivimed Labs Ltd (up 2.12%), Thyrocare Technologies Ltd (up 2.03%), and Morepen Laboratories Ltd (up 1.98%).

On the other hand, Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd (down 1.59%), Bliss GVS Pharma Ltd (down 1.22%), and Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (down 1.06%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 209.07 or 0.52% at 40621.64.

The Nifty 50 index was up 56.95 points or 0.48% at 11967.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 77.04 points or 0.59% at 13223.65.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 30.83 points or 0.67% at 4665.88.

On BSE,917 shares were trading in green, 393 were trading in red and 74 were unchanged.
