Healthcare stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index falling 68.3 points or 0.52% at 13003.91 at 13:50 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Piramal Enterprises Ltd (down 4.54%), Vivimed Labs Ltd (down 4.08%),Wockhardt Ltd (down 3.96%),Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 3.05%),Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd (down 3.05%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Morepen Laboratories Ltd (down 2.79%), Laurus Labs Ltd (down 2.06%), Poly Medicure Ltd (down 1.95%), Granules India Ltd (down 1.73%), and Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd (down 1.65%).
On the other hand, Panacea Biotec Ltd (up 13.94%), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 5.89%), and Indoco Remedies Ltd (up 5.15%) moved up.
At 13:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 89.53 or 0.24% at 37193.81.
The Nifty 50 index was up 27.25 points or 0.25% at 11010.05.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 58.74 points or 0.46% at 12966.43.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 8.95 points or 0.21% at 4314.81.
On BSE,1211 shares were trading in green, 1051 were trading in red and 141 were unchanged.
