NHPC gains after commissioning solar power project

NHPC rose 0.76% to Rs 26.65 at 09:18 IST on BSE after the company announced that it has fully commissioned a 50 megawatts solar power project in Theni/Dindigul District of Tamil Nadu on 23 March 2018.

The announcement was made after market hours on Friday, 23 March 2018.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 35.90 points, or 0.11% to 32,632.44.

On the BSE, 6,740 shares were traded in the counter so far, compared with average daily volumes of 4.05 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 26.75 and a low of Rs 26.45 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 34.50 on 4 January 2018. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 25.55 on 23 March 2018.

 

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 10259.32 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

NHPC's net profit jumped 220.43% to Rs 687.93 crore on 14.47% rise in net sales to Rs 1497.93 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q3 December 2016.

NHPC is ranked as a premier organization in the country for development of hydropower.
