Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index declines 3.57%

Nifty Auto index ended down 3.57% at 6905.7 today. The index is down 13.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Motors Ltd slipped 6.52%, Apollo Tyres Ltd fell 5.91% and Bajaj Auto Ltd shed 5.00%. The Nifty Auto index is down 36.00% over last one year compared to the 0.79% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index is down 3.28% and Nifty Metal index has slid 2.99% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.84% to close at 11189.2 while the SENSEX is down 0.52% to close at 37686.37 today.
