Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index registers a drop of 2.44%

Nifty Auto index closed down 2.44% at 9051.5 today. The index has lost 0.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Motors Ltd dropped 4.71%, Tata Motors-DVR fell 4.04% and Hero MotoCorp Ltd slipped 3.97%. The Nifty Auto index has decreased 19.00% over last one year compared to the 1.55% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index has slid 2.17% and Nifty PSU Bank index has slid 2.07% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.97% to close at 10482.2 while the SENSEX has slid 0.98% to close at 34812.99 today.
