Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 3.14%

Nifty Metal index ended up 3.14% at 2642.15 today. The index has gained 15.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd rose 11.23%, JSW Steel Ltd added 5.30% and Coal India Ltd jumped 3.81%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 23.00% over last one year compared to the 13.16% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index has dropped 3.06% and Nifty Auto index is down 1.34% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.43% to close at 11941.3 while the SENSEX increased 0.34% to close at 40301.96 today.
