Quick Wrap: Nifty Pharma Index records a surge of 2.20%, NIFTY climbs 1.11%

Nifty Pharma index ended up 2.20% at 8378.65 today. The index has added 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd rose 20.27%, Piramal Enterprises Ltd added 3.35% and Cadila Healthcare Ltd jumped 2.95%. The Nifty Pharma index has decreased 2.00% over last one year compared to the 14.35% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index increased 1.96% and Nifty PSE index gained 1.89% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.11% to close at 12125.9 while the SENSEX increased 1.05% to close at 41323 today.
