Telecom shares fall

Telecom stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 3.57 points or 0.32% at 1112.39 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Tejas Networks Ltd (down 3.79%), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (down 0.74%),Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 0.58%),Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 0.49%),Sterlite Technologies Ltd (down 0.38%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were OnMobile Global Ltd (down 0.33%), HFCL Ltd (down 0.28%), Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (down 0.27%), and ITI Ltd (down 0.11%).
On the other hand, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (up 2.5%), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 0.81%), and Optiemus Infracom Ltd (up 0.36%) moved up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 52.53 or 0.13% at 41306.27.
The Nifty 50 index was up 14.15 points or 0.12% at 12182.6.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 23.49 points or 0.49% at 4796.68.
On BSE,1265 shares were trading in green, 976 were trading in red and 171 were unchanged.
