Colin Farrell's mother a newlywed

Irish actor Colin Farrell's mother, Rita, has found love at the age of 70, and is married to him.

The 37-year-old said that his mother decided to tie the knot with a man named Joe following a whirlwind romance, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"She found herself a really good man... They got married six months ago. We threw her a wedding" Farrell said.

"They took the fast track to love. They met...a little over a year ago, and they lived in sin for six months (before marrying)," he added.

Rita was previously married to the actor's father, Irish soccer player Eamon Farrell.
