Indirect tax collection jumps 30.8% to Rs. 1,99,790 crore in April-June

India's indirect tax collections jumped by 30.8 per cent to Rs 1,99,790 crore during the April to June quarter this year, an official statement said on Friday.

"The figures of indirect tax collection for the first quarter of current fiscal 2016-17 indicates a growth rate of 30.8 per cent as compared to the 36.3 per cent in the corresponding period of previous financial year," said a finance ministry statement.

The collection upto June 2016 indicates that 25.7 per cent of the annual budget target of indirect taxes has been achieved in the first three months of 2016-17, it said.
