A man and woman were beaten to death in Jharkhand's Godda district early Saturday for having an illicit relationship, police said.
Mahendra Sao, 50, was allegedly found in a compromising position with the woman, 25, in the district, about 500 km from Ranchi. The angry family members called panchayat and decided to kill both. Both were brutally beaten to death, police said.
The couple was allegedly beaten to death by the woman's family. Their bodies were sent for post-mortem.
The family members and people of the locality were aware of the couple's relation. Just as they caught them red-handed, the couple was beaten to death. Nobody has been arrested in the case so far. The woman's family termed it as land dispute, police said.
