Man wanted to gift jewellery to wife on wedding night, arrested
A young man was arrested on Monday on charge of stealing jewellery in west Delhi which he intended to gift to his bride on the wedding night to impress her, police said.
Gold, silver and diamond jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh was recovered from Akash, 22, of Uttam Nagar. The accused planned to get married this year, police added.
"He has confessed to his involvement in at least 17 case of thefts reported from Bindapur and Uttam Nagar," Deputy Commissioner of Police Shibesh Singh said.
