Minor apprehended on rape charge

A 17-year-old boy has been apprehended here for raping a girl, police said Wednesday.

The girl, a class 12 student, was alone at her home in Safdarjung Enclave area when she was raped by the minor, who lives in her neighbourhood. The boy is a class 11 student.

The incident took place at around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

"One of the victim's relatives caught boy red handed and called police," said a police official.

"Based on a complaint filed by the girl's relatives, a case has been registered against the boy who was sent to a reformation home after his apprehension," the official said.
