Modi meets members of Jewish community in New York

India has a centuries-old tradition of Jewish people living in peace and harmony, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi told a delegation of Jewish leaders who met him here Saturday.

This was conveyed by external affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin here Sunday.

The meeting with the members of the US Jewish community was among the many appointments that Modi had Saturday, and came just ahead of his speech at Madison Square Garden at a function organised by the Indian American community.
