Mohun Bagan sign Balwant from Churchill Brothers

City football giants Mohun Bagan have roped in Churchill Brothers striker Balwant Singh for the 2014-15 season, the club said in a statement Saturday.

The 27-year-old netted 10 goals in the last edition of the I-League and also played a vital role in guiding Churchill to the Federation Cup title by scoring four goals in the tournament. The player also scored three goals in the AFC Cup 2013-14.

Balwant was named the Best Indian Player of the Year for 2013-14 by the Football Players Association of India (FPAI).
