A labourer was killed and five others were seriously injured on Wednesday when they were buried under debris of old buildings of Satpura thermal power plant which were being demolished.
The six labourers were buried under the debris falling from a tilted conveyor belt of the power plant in Sarani town in Betul district.
The deceased was identified as Ramlal Talsa, aged 22. The injured have been admitted to hospital.
The thermal power plant's public relations officer S.K. Malviya said a Mumbai-based Sikkim Ferro company had been allotted the tender to demolish the old buildings. The demolition work was in progress since November 1.
