A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Friday dropped 193.63 points or 0.75 percent during the afternoon session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 59.10 points or 0.75 percent down at 7,785.25 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that opened at 25,764.67 points, was trading at 25,610.15 points (at 1.13 p.m.) in the afternoon session, down 193.63 points or 0.75 percent from the previous day's close at 25,803.78 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 25,789.51 points and a low of 25,603.56 points in the trade so far.
