Abu Dhabi, May 3 (IANS/WAM) At the initiative of the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation is sending urgent humanitarian aid to the landslide victims in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province.
The relief aid includes tents, food items and medicines.
A spokesman for the provincial governor said on Saturday that more than 2,100 people are confirmed dead in the landslide in a remote mountain village area in northeast Afghanistan.
