Wozniacki beats Kvitova at WTA Finals White Group

Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniacki, second seed, defeated Czech Petra Kvitova 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 on Tuesday in the White Group of the WTA Finals tourney held in Singapore.
Defending champion Wozniacki managed to beat her fourth-seeded opponent, the 2011 champion, after a marathon match that lasted nearly two and a half hours, improving her chances of reaching the knockout stage, reports Efe.
"I played much better today and I think I returned well, served well and moved well," Wozniacki, world No. 3, said after the match.
"Against Petra, you just have to stay on your game, so I tried to stay focused and get a lot of balls back. I just had the belief and fought until the end," the 28-year-old added.
Both players were defeated in their opening matches in Singapore on Sunday, so they needed a victory in their group to be able to advance further in the tournament.
