There was a mad rush among Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to visit the temples of the coastal town of Kozhikode in Kerala. On the sidelines of the BJP's three-day National Council meeting, party leaders dressed up in traditional mundus, visited temples and posted their pictures on social networking sites. The tone was set by BJP President Amit Shah (pictured), who visited temples frequented by the Ezhavas and Other Backward Class communities the party is reaching out to. The BJP improved its vote share significantly in the Assembly polls in Kerala earlier this year.
