On Tuesday, Bengalis too fond of their homeland (and I am not one of them) turned ecstatic after the Chennai-based Geographical Indications (GI) Registry declared that rasogolla originated in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted from London: “Sweet news for us all.
