What is the truth about the sacking of J P Rajkhowa, erstwhile governor of Arunachal Pradesh? One version has it that Rashtrapati Bhavan was so furious that Rajkhowa had not been sacked even weeks after the Supreme Court (SC) order, which lambasted his role in the Arunachal Pradesh change of government that the home secretary and the home minister were summoned by President Pranab Mukherjee and then were kept waiting. When the President walked in to meet them, they were shown highlighted portions of the SC order that referred to Rajkhowa's conduct. On the other hand, it is true that the home minister and the President have close ties - Rajnath Singh was the first minister to rush to Rashtrapati Bhavan when he heard that the First Lady had passed away. He stayed with the President for three hours thereafter.
