When buyer sets the terms

An ultra luxury carmaker was in for a surprise while trying to sell a Rs 2.5-crore car to the wife of an industrialist in Mumbai. The customer demanded several changes inside, but when the company sent a contract with the details of the changes and the cost thereof, the prospective customer refused to sign on the dotted line. The changes would entail a huge cost and the company was just trying to ensure the customer didn't go back on her decision. But the customer was unrelenting. The car dealer was asked to sign a contract prepared by the customer that had hefty penalties. Last heard, the luxury carmaker did not follow up on the sale.
