2 arrested in illicit liquor smuggling case in J&K

Two persons were today arrested in connection with alleged smuggling of illicit liquor in Jammu district, police said.

A police team laid a surprise checkpoint at Khour Bazar in Akhnoor belt of the district and intercepted two pedestrian Kamal Kishore and Nikka Singh today, a police official said.

During their search, they recovered 214 bottles of illicit country made liquor, he said.

Both of them were arrested, he said, adding that a case has been registered in this connection and investigation of the case is on.
